Honor Guard / Color Guard Support

At the Newport Harbor American Legion Post 291, our Honor Guard and Color Guard stand as a visible expression of our Post’s deepest commitment: honoring those who have worn the uniform of the United States.

The primary mission of the Post 291 Honor Guard is to provide Military Funeral Ceremonies for Veterans and Retirees who have served honorably in the United States Armed Forces. When a fellow service member is laid to rest, we ensure that their final salute is rendered with precision, reverence, and gratitude. Each ceremony is conducted with honor, and respect; preserving the solemn traditions that reflect the history and sacrifice of our nation’s military.

Our Color Guard extends that commitment into the heart of our community. From flag raisings and parades to business conferences and civic ceremonies, the Post 291 Color Guard provides professional, protocol-driven presentations that uphold the patriotic spirit of Americanism. Every appearance is a reminder of the values we share, and the freedoms secured through service.

These services are provided with pride and without fanfare, but they do require uniforms, equipment, training, transportation, and ongoing maintenance. Your support ensures that we can continue to answer every call, whether at graveside or at the forefront of a community celebration.
